|
Society Auction-Reference Catalog "Invitation: Come & See" is a full color, fully illustrated catalog, with 401 lots, and 135 pages.
The title of the Society’s fifty-ninth auction sale “Invitation: Come and See” sums it up with the centered photograph of Alabama’s Norman Smith standing in his shop smiling holding his piggy bank out to show you, then as your eyes look into his shops background with all he’s been so busy creating. So now the invitation is to you the collector to celebrate all these marvellous potter/artisan’s reaching out to you with the catalog. The informative and personal biography’s coupled with a potters language you will be engulfed. As Ralph Rinzler wrote in 1993 “I felt an instant communication the potter had just told me something significant about his or her approach to their work.” This grouping comprises some of our clay masters showing off their personal achievements to acquire as you now become the next generation of caretakers. So “Come and See.”
